Samsung has filed a new lawsuit in South Korea claiming that Apple’s iPhone 4S and iPad 2 infringe on three of the company’s utility patents. So much for coming to terms on a licensing agreement. The suit, filed Tuesday in a Seoul court, alleges that Apple has copied Samsung’s proprietary display method for show showing data, the user interface, and short text messages.
The suit is just the latest in a series of 30 back-and-forth legal spats in 10 different countries. A report surface yesterday that suggested Apple would be willing to abandon their attempts to sue Samsung out of business in exchange for $5 to $15 per Android handset sold. For the moment it appears the two will remain entangled in the legal system in lieu of such an agreement.

While I tend to ignore that type of hyperbole, you are correct. Such comparisons only serve to diminish the atrocities in people’s minds and is really an insult to the innocent people who died.

Everyone played nice in the mobile world for the most part. The occasional scuffle.
Then Apple decided to cast the first stone. The second stone, the third stone, etc…
If you look you’ll notice, they pretty much still are playing nice. Aside from Apple. Apple sues everyone so everyone sues Apple back. We don’t really hear too much about anyone else sueing anyone other then Apple do we?
Microsoft is also suing everyone.

As long as it’s Apple on the receiving end, I have no problems with it. And the only licensing deal I care for is the one where Apple has to pay up.
