The Countdown Begins: 8 Days Left Until TSF Pro Shell Launcher Is Released

45

Yes, folks. If you can believe the date posted on the YouTube trailer, there are only 8 days left until TSF Pro Shell launcher is finally released into the Android Market. A launcher that can be described as nothing short of breathtaking (and maybe even overly complicated?), TSF Shell Pro is a launcher that takes inspiration from all those TAT UI videos we used to drool over back in the G1 days. Big beautiful widgets, gorgeous fluid animations, intuitive UI — I have to admit, TSF Pro Shell will take some getting used to, but it should be jolly good time every step of the way.

If you need a little refresher, their original walkthrough trailer can be viewed, in all of its glory, or you can visit the official site via the link below for more info (Chinese). Next Wednesday couldn’t come soon enough but I still, with no updates on the TSF blog, I worry it may miss the release date. Will anyone else have their hearts crushed if this doesn’t release on schedule?

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  1. No link to your source for the lazy onlooker who’s curious of the source of the info? i has the sad.

    1. It’s a youtube trailer, hat more do you want?

      1.  He posted info about the app saying it would be released in 8 days, not to say that I don’t believe or not trust Phandroid, but the original source is always nice to have. The YouTube video says nothing about the release date and therefore is not directly related to this article.

        1. Don’t mind Scott. But yeah, the release date is in the description for their video that I posted and not actually on their site =p

    2. Updated the post. Actually went back and added it before I saw your comment =p

  2. what about exiting the brower? the other shell launcher take a while to load after exiting the browser or app.

  3. Im very excited to give it a shot, i love my Gnex and ICS but some of the unique UI implementation their showing off like the lasso are way to fun to pass up

  4. This consume a lot of battery… or not?

    1. widgets, yes.  icons no.   launcher, somewhat.

  5. Amazing functionality, but I don’t like the childish design.  I like something more sleek and formal.

  6. Nice. I wonder if it’ll be memory hog…

  7. reminds me alot of little big planet

    1. Totally. With those clouds with strings on them floating to the right. lol.

  8. looks like it will slow down any phone. bring on the octal-core processors.

    1. It was running on a single-core 2nd gen Snapdragon. Seems the developer did wonders optimizing this launcher…

  9. The countdown begins? Am I suppose to  be excited? I haven’t even ever heard of TSF Pro Shell launcher until now.

I don’t think I like it from the pics and video.

  10. Awesome launcher! I’ve been waiting for something like this since I saw TAT Launcher, then found out that it was never coming to Android. This looks like a more polished version of TAT, but with more features and options. I’ll buy it as soon as it hits the market.
    Any word on pricing?

  11. Wow, that’s pretty impressive. Too bad they didn’t include Quentin’s multiple wallpapers.

    1. LauncherPro has this option, iirc, but a unique wallpaper for every homescreen eats an extra ~1MB per screen (800×480), which isn’t that much RAM anymore

  12. Looks amazing. I wonder if it’ll support custom themes

  13. Watch Apple sue them anyway

  14. Ok that is really neat.  I’ll have to try this.

  15. If it integrates with MIUI themes, I’ll check it out.  Happy with Go Launcher but this has a lot more potential.

  16. I would bet my house that this does not launch on the market next Wednesday. Why get people all pumped up for chinese vaporware?

    1.  You would bet your house? Must be underwater…

  17. no doubt its quite impressive, but in reality I would never use 99% of the features and I rarely ever change the layout of my screens. I can’t imagine it wouldn’t be a memory and battery hog to boot. That said, it seems like a pretty neat way to show off….

  18. Personally I’m tried of everything trying to look like an iPhone in terms of the icons.  This is the same crap that Samsung, LG and others have been doing with their launchers.  Why do we need a square behind them?  Just make it the icon as the app developer intended – don’t make everything a perfect square with a little color background.  Just my morning rant on this unfortunate current trend :)

    1. square icons were out before iphone.  misplaced anger.

    2. I don’t like the square icons of launchers like this and touchwiz, simply because of the unified look they give all the icons, I find it much easier to pick out and launch the developers icon as it was designed, because you can identify it on the shape and color as well as the icon and text.

If theirs an option to use developers icon’s I’d consider this launcher, though I wonder how bad this launcher will drain the battery, looks like a lot of stuff there.

      1. As long as I can theme it then this is cool because those icons are ugly. I plan to get to work on themes right away. If anyone has any suggestions, post them in the comments for this thing when it drops.

    3. @droiddev:disqus and @facebook-1072914782:disqus it really should be obvious that the phone he’s on is running MIUI. those are MIUI based icons, and MIUI’s notification bar.

    4. TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU…THEY JUST DONT GET IT…???

  19. If Android has all of these features built-in why doesn’t google implement them to make android fluid like this launcher.Anyway I will be buying this launcher when it launches :)

    1. Is that these beautiful programs are written by Google employees. So that they can earn money instead of releasing them freely with android?

  20. wonder how this interacts with sense.

  21. Does anyone actually believe this will be released? Looks just like TAT home to me.

  22. wow thats impressive love folder boxes and lil map bar lol

  23. Wow, Im impressed……¿Wich launchers are the best?

  24.  I can’t wait  for its release. Looks use full  and more than just eye candy.

  25. Shut up and take my money!

  26. Seems like there are too many features. I cant imagine that this wouldn’t use a crap load of the processor.

  27. Should this run without lag on my device, I shalt find myself sorely tempted.

  28. I’m starting to also believe this is vaporware =( emails to the developers are being kicked back

  29. After watching the promo i can confidentlly say that it will make it’s way.

  30. …..its been 9 days….:-(
