I Want CyanogenMod 9’s Boot Animation ASAP [Video]

30

Finding and flashing different boot animations is a bit of a pastime for us flashing fanatics, and I think I speak for everyone when I say we can’t wait to see this new CyanogenMod 9 boot animation each time we load our phones up. A bit of the old with a new, energetic flare. Boy, does it look good. Check it out in the video above and look forward to this one in CyanogenMod 9 by the time things get close to stable. The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  7. If only my phone actually booted that quickly…

  8. like you all gonna be switching your devices on and off to watch the boot animation, SILY

  12. Looks like someone found a new animation program and tried every effect.  No thanks

    1. Hah. You know nothing about video production then

      1. That would be an incorrect assumption.

  13. its awesome, but needs the warp effect to end in either a fade out or a flash.  Seems too abrupt to show the home screen.

    1. I’m not sure a wrap effect is possible with the boot animations as there really isn’t a set time for when its supposed to end, it just stops when the device is completely loaded.

The ending in the video isn’t necessarily the way the animation will stop though, as after a phone boots it goes to the lock screen, not the home screen.  The ending in the video was just for demonstration purposes I think and not the final product.

…I could be wrong though, just pitching in my two cents.

  14. It’s OK…..Kind of difficult to masturbate to though……

  15. Awesome boot animation, and if this is ready… it also means the first public CM9 release is imminent! :)

(after about 3 months of alpha-status, we have RC’s… currently running update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-Captivate-KANG-BUILD16-signed.zip here)

  16. Cue the cease & desist letter from the BBC for copying the Dr Who titles.

  17. Wow, that’s really, really nice AND cool.

BUT, what’s the boot time increase in having such a nice, but complex animation?

    1. It’s just a bunch of jpg’s played in a row.  If you have a fullscreen boot animation, I don’t see how a “complex” one would be any more computationally more expensive than a “simple” one.

      1. More jpegs to load? Seems like if there were more images making up the frames of a smoother animation it would take up more space and take more time to load.

…of course with this time of system the filesizes are so small any difference in performance would be unseen, which was the point you were making, which I agree with.

  18. The music reminds me of Mega Man. I want it. Now.

  19. This reminds me of the old Doctor Who intro – now that’s what I want for my boot animation!
