Motorola DROID 4 to Launch February 9th?

10

We’re expecting the Motorola DROID 4 to be launched shortly after its official unveiling at CES but it’s been difficult to pinpoint an exact date. Take this one with a grain of salt, however – Droid-Life is hearing from a source that the 4 inch stretching, LTE having, dual-core pushing, keyboard-laden device will launch February 9th. That’s only a short 8 days from now. Pricing is expected to be either $200 or $300 but we’d expect the latter considering all the features packed inside. Has anyone been holding out for this one?

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. I’d wait about 3 months after initial release, for the MAXX edition that’s sure to follow………..

    1. Three months, more like three weeks! I’ll wait wait three months and get the Moto Droid 6 Maxx…

  2. Wait a minute it was the Feb 2nd last month , now it is the 9th , and the original date was suppose to be in January 26th.
No one really knows and now it is old tech with locked bootloader .

    Who cares anymore !

    1. completely agree.  I kinda like keyboards cause its easier when doing SSH sessions and stuff, but to delay a phone till it is completely outdated makes keyboard phone worthless.  Way to fail moto and verizon.

  3. It is still the best keyboarded phone on the market.  Ask yourself this, what are you holding on to? This beats the pants off my G2, so when it’s released I’m buying one.  Don’t get me wrong, I wanted this thing in December when it was first rumored to be released.  But I don’t think that it’s “outdated” at all now.  Dual-core 1.2Ghz proc with 1GB of RAM.  How is that “outdated”?  So it doesn’t have ICS, big whoop nothing but the Galaxy Nexus has that, and this is going to get it eventually(supposedly first half 2012, but not holding my breath).  Locked Bootloader? Again, what are you holding on to now? It may take a while, but I’m sure it will either get hacked or Moto will release an unlocker.  No sense in withholding based on that.  My only fear is that CM9 stable will come out before this thing is released. I’d hate to downgrade my OS.

    1. Supposed to resemble specs of the Razr….. WTB Super Amoled?  qHD = crap at this point in the market IMO.   Looking at them side by side is a huge difference to me.

      1. I’ll take qhd over HD in a pinch. Less strain on battery life and the GPU, plus it’s not like I watch movies on my phone anyway.

    2. a locked bootloader is definitely a deal breaker in my opinion…

  4. In a word…”yes”. This is the phone I am waiting for.

  5. I think it is smart verizon started pricing their lte devices at $199 rather than everyone being $299 like before.
