If you have an upgrade available this year you may want to consider getting it through Best Buy. They’re offering a $50 gift card to anyone who upgrades their cell phone in 2012, but it isn’t without a catch, natch. You have to sign up by February 12th to be eligible, but after taking care of that you’ll be in line to receive a gift card whenever you upgrade your phone at their stores. You might as well sign up even if you don’t know how you’ll be upgrading yet. Get started here.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. and i’ll now be buying a few accessories with my sprint galaxy nexus

  2. Sell me an updated Samsung Galaxy Note 2 on Sprint and I’ll take you up on that.

  3. might as well sign up for a free $50 gift card

  4. Not worth it, considering amazons prices for most high end phones

    1.  i buy at best buy because of the superb black-tie program

      1. Their Black-Tie protection plan is amazing!  I’ve never lost a phone but have broke them. No deductible and unlimited claims!  Me likely! :-)

        1.  i agree, if you lose it i think thats your own damn fault but water damage happens and i love that best buy agrees to that, unlike carriers who think just because water damage is number one that they shouldn’t cover it

  5. Of course, just upgraded! Oh well not much i can buy there for $50.

  6. where is my Sprint G-Nex mofos????????

  7. Hmmmm. I’ll definitely be waiting for the Gnex on my Sprint line. But I also have an upgrade on my work T-Mobile line right now. Currently I have an HD7, but they don’t have any large screened Windows Phones on T-Mobile right now. FAIL. 3.8″ screen is too small!

  8. Take note by signing up, you are giving them permission to text you with spam.

  9. Can’t hurt to sign up, even if I don’t end up buying from them.

  10. They should be offering $500 gift cards for the Transformer Primes they cancelled on me 3 days before Christmas.  Eff BestBuy

  11. The cool thing is, if you buy in store, you can use the $50 off the purchase price of the phone! I don’t know what BB’s prices are compared to Verizon, but it’s worth the sign-up just in case.

  12. Best Buy’s upgrade prices are all $50 more than Verizon’s are. Seems like they’re just charging me an extra $50 & then converting it to something that can only be used in their store.

  13. Any idea how they handle legacy upgrades? Can they extend current plans, or do they have to “upgrade” you to a current plan?

  14. I just left a BB mobile store and she showed me that these do not work until the phone has been activated. Hence, you can’t use it toward the purchase price.

  15. just used the $50 card and my buy back return from my Tbolt to get the galaxy nexus. Paid nothing out of pocket and still had about $40 left over on the gift card. Did i mention they also price matched Costco at $220 for the GN?
