Woot.com Selling 32GB HP TouchPad for $220

12

It’s no $99 fire sale but daily deals site Woot.com is offering the HP Touchpad at a pretty good price, all things considered. You can get the 9.7 inch 32GB WiFi variant for $220 + shipping. If you have been unable to find this thing this long after the TouchPad fire sale this is a great chance to get one.

It’s also good timing considering recent developments in the community. CyanogenMod 9 is as stable as it’s ever been on the TouchPad, even if it is unofficial right now. Once stable, you’ll have one of the cheapest, yet most capable Android 4.0 tablets around. Take a look at its section on RootzWiki to see what’s available for it so far. Most aren’t even 80% stable yet but still worth checking out.

As for those who will opt to stick with WebOS, you’ll be happy to know that HP will soon be open-sourcing the software so that the hard work put in by the Palm team doesn’t go to waste. Exciting times, indeed. Find the 32GB version here. For what it’s worth, sellout.woot also had the 16GB version for $170 but, as you can imagine, it has sold out. [Thanks Razzle!]

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. HP Touchpad, the HD2 of Tablets.

  2. Thanks! Called a good friend of mine who kept missing out on the firesales and she picked up the 32gb… :)

  3. Totally snagged one! CM9 on a TP = WINNING!

    1. CM9 works great on it as well, I bought one for my son, put CM9 on it and all the games I have run on there fine except for Shadowgun and GTA III. Either way he loves playing with CM9 more than WebOS. DEFINITELY WORTH IT!!!

  4. It’s not worth the $220. Get the Kindle Fire instead, or wait for the Asus Memo.

    1. Ummm, It’s actually totally worth every penny. Good luck finding another 10″ IPS dual core tablet with 1GB of RAM and Android 4.0 with a FFC, bluetooth, and 32GB of storage.

The Kindle Fire doesn’t even have the android app market, it’s smaller, less features, and runs Android 2.3. It’s not even comparable in my eyes.

  5. Not worth it? Kindle fire doesn’t even have buetooth and is only 7″. So for $25 more you get a bigger more functional tablet

    1. Don’t forget to mention all the extra memory in this guy.  (I’ve got a nook and don’t use it as much as I want to because of the small screen size.  It’s still easier for me to use my phone or laptop.)

  6. Got on at the first fire sale, flashed CM9 to it recently, and it’s amazing.I love ICS

  7. That sold out fast. :(

  8. Of course this happens right after I buy the Iconia for $299.

  9. Isnt this refurbished model that is on sale?
