Notion Ink Testing ICS for Adam Tablet, Teases New Device

3

A lot of hype led up to the release of the Notion Ink Adam, a lot of hype that the actual product didn’t exactly live up to. Still, Notion Ink hasn’t abandoned their efforts to capture the title of best Android tablet. A build of Android 4.0 for the Adam is already in the works, and the Notion Ink team showed off an alpha build of the software on the company blog. For those interested they have even made the build available for download and installation, though it is warned there is a lot of work left to be done to get Android 4.0.3 fully functional on the tablet.

Perhaps even bigger is news that Notion Ink has begun work on their next tablet, this time proclaiming that all research and development will be performed in house and tracked via a new blog run by the dev team. From the sound of it, this new slate is in the earliest of pre-production phases. Speculating on a release date would be more than pre-mature.

We’ve had high hopes for Notion Ink and given them the benefit of the doubt. This double shot of news has us cautiously optimistic about their future.

  1. I would be more optimistic about this if it wasn’t for the fact that the ROM was made mostly by the community. They even provide a link to Tabletroms if you want to “follow development and comments.” Don’t get me wrong, I’m incredibly grateful to the community for all the hard work, but I paid Notion Ink for my tablet and they aren’t even the ones providing updates for it.

    1. I haven’t touched my Adam in more then 6 months.  I kind of regret the purchase.

      1. You and me both, brother. I wanted to believe that NI could pull through with all their promises, but they’ve missed the mark in every possible way.
