Motorola DROID 4 Leaked Again – Demo Unit Pictured In The Wild

14

There’s pretty much nothing we don’t already know about Motorola’s worst kept secret, the Droid 4, other than an actual release date. With that being said, the “Razr with a keyboard” is actually looking more like the Bionic from the latest leaked pics taken by John and team at TechnoBuffalo who got some hands-on with a demo unit earlier today.

The device, while not exactly a working model (more of those shells you find on display at Best Buy) does give us a better look at it, with pictures showing off every angle. The Droid 4 will most likely make an appearance at CES 2012 next month of which the entire Phandroid staff we be on hand bringing you the very latest in Android tech.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  1. Looks Fat. Was hoping for a thinner profile

    1. Yup last year this would’ve been acceptable but even with keyboard this is just too thick…htc thick :s

  2. Thanks for the pics )PhanD and TecB) . Nice looking , don’t mind the thickness easier to hold onto .
Wish someone would do a OG Droid and Droid 4 side by side comparison just for kicks .

  3. ok sprint and Verizon bring it. since sprint wants me to pay 400 for a old bill and Verizon wants a 400 deposit. excite me before i get my tax return. that droid 4 looks sweet, but then again unlimited data if sprint can announce a lte handset. let the games begin.

    1. You Get Your Deposit Back With Interest With Verizon… JS

      1. the only thing with verizon is the double data promotion will be over by then but i am surrounded by lte coverage where i live

    2. Sprint’s unlimited data is rumored to be not long for this world.  Remove that and all you have is, well, Sprint, with their less than impressive stable of handsets.

If you can get unlimited data, and get grandfathered in, and if Sprint decides to carry a respectable selection of handsets from which to choose, go for it.  They just seem unwilling to offer anything exciting.  They’re not as frumpy as AT&T, no as kiddie-oriented as TMO, but they don’t exactly give you the shivers, either.  However, tastes differ and YMMV.

  4. I had the og Droid and I loved it until the left side of the screen shit the bed. I’ve always had bad luck with moto products, and ended up with a rezound which so far has performed flawlessly… Although I miss the keyboard. If this had vanilla ics inside I would probably consider it, but blur just ruins it for me.

  5. They should replace the four menu keys with physical ‘send’ and ‘end’ keys.  No need for them with ICS, but the key change would make the phone more usable as a phone.

  6. Too big of a brezel

  7. At least it looks like it has a removable battery

  8. I would actually like it to be as thick as the d3. I dont like ultra slim profiles. They’re phones, not women

  9. Another nice device from motorola :) They are the best in the business.

  10. Verizon *may* (nothing more than a rumor at the moment) be dropping the Droid 3, LG Revolution, and all of  their current 3G/4G hotspots in January, among a few other things.
