Isis Partnership Entrusts Gemalto to Secure NFC Payment System

The Isis mobile payments platform is back by a partnership including AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. With big names backing the service, it seems like the mobile wallet system has a chance of catching on. That is, if people can trust NFC-based purchasing options with their bank money. As a new technology, there are still some things to work out, the biggest being security concerns.

What is in here is not important at all

Enter Gemalto, the company chosen to secure the financial information of consumers when using Isis. Making users feel safe using NFC payments would go a long way towards adoption of the system. The issue of mobile payment security recently surfaced with news of Verizon keeping Google Wallet off of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Verizon cited the need for a more secure system before allowing Google’s mobile wallet onto their network. The Isis versus Google Wallet angle is hard to ignore, however.

Don’t like it go somewhere else.  You should be thankful they have fun stuff like this!  If you were refreshing every 3 minutes chances are you were not going to win anyway!

        • jshaffer21

well if you’re refreshing every 3 minutes, and the picture comes up two minutes after your last refresh, then you loose…

but im sure they’re going to listen to you, after all,you capitalized everything, that means your’e angry and your opinion matters

  • Lewis McGeary

Hmm, so what is the sentence before? The article sentence or the ‘not important’ sentence, I went with ‘not important’, both versions had been posted before mine anyway, but will be interesting to see.

  • Daniel Rosseau

I like this system the best for the first to post.  I can’t believe how many people answer right away though.  It is crazy!  I like how it had to be specific so it was harder to do.  I would love for you guys to share your web traffic stats before and after the contest.  How many average loads to you have to 1 IP address and stuff like that.  What is the most for a single day?  How much higher are your page views that before the contest?  I just think this has to be so much higher!  I’ve been having lots of fun with this though!

  • doodos

heart was pumping trying to see the sentences, hard to focus with the rush

    • feztheforeigner

Yeah, I got that Nexus rush all the time now. Hard to focus on school…or evn tihs sntence…

      • doodos

Yeah school…im suppose to be studying for finals tomorrow but im on phandroid

  • BaldyPal

question, and it’s for the judges to answer. is the sentence preceding the picture, this…
“As a new technology, there are still some things to work out, the biggest being security concerns.”
    or this…
“What is in here is not important at all”
Also, what if the title is incomplete? I see 2 that had the “I” in “Isis” cut off.
Just curious. Good luck to all!

  • Bryan Gottschalk (mrhost)

you weren’t supposed to comment here. I think anyone that post test messages in contest forums should be disqualified from now on. Suchafreaking waste of space.

    • meany105

While I hate having all the newbies who only made an account for this contest the contest is run by phandroid, and they are the business, so I see why it is necessary for them to try and attract new people who really only would have signed up if there was a really awesome contest such as this

That said they should make these new posters post in the intro duction thread and Ban the testing spam

  • TechJunkie198

    booo.. i wasn’t ready

  • Fixxmyhead

There’s a blank white space in the phandroid app.

Nice job using the div tag and php.

  • $16221644

Chris, nice job with the div and php.

You should have set up a trap and put in a 1x1px image with the same file name that you used in the other post.  Then some foolish cheaters would have copied the wrong text and expose themselves on the forum.  Wohahah, that would have been awesome.

  • Jose

a guy named jd13sun posted first, i think he should be the winner i mean, i know the rules stated that he had to put the the sentence before and after the image and the time stamp, but i mean inst that irrelevant? the time if the same time of the post, and the 2 sentences why? he probably was so nervous that he just forgot about those things and just put up the post, plus they should had put that rule where it said (and i quote):”Today we have a variation on our ‘Secret Phrase Challenge.’ Be on the lookout for the following image to appear in a Phandroid post later today, and when you do head on over to Android Forums and let us know”.I mean the first 2 or 3 post were just like that (only the link because the rules at the beginning just stated that and if u already had an account in the past few days you would just jump to the forums) and that is why he probably posted the link alone. I just think is unfair for the first person that posted to not win anything just because of that. Some of you would probably said he is a bot but if he do the testing stuff before posting the link post i said he is not. By the way im not taking anything from doodos, but is just unfair to jd13sun.

    • SuperChunk

lol, so we should not force anyone to follow rules? That’s stupid. If they don’t read all of the rules, then they lose for stupidity…. god that’s the problem with this world now.. too many babies who need everything handed to them.

  • Tarek Shawky Badawy

FYI from now on dont try to play from teh phandroid app because the image doesnt show up…sucks. I’m not complaining, live and learn right. I like these types of contests the best! thanks phandroid!

  • Nancy Velez_Quiñones

i thought i won, i put the link first :/ didnt know about the two sentence thing :/ and i was refreshing the page every second, i just hope they dont take this away from me, i mean i wanted the kindle fire for mom and the asus eee pad slider for my girlfriend because her laptop stop working a couple of weeks ago. I posted the link first… :( im not a botttttttt!!! (jd13sun) ps: im using my girlfriends e-mail just in case which is the same one i use on the forum

    • johnny989

get over it. The rules were clear. It’s not their fault for you not reading. They don’t even have to put contests like this up.

    • Jason Farrell

How could you not know? The RULES are right there in plain english. Sorry, but disqualified.

      • Nancy Velez_Quiñones

yeah you say that because it didn’t happened to you, i mean your not studying for an organic chemistry test tomorrow are you? and u probably have a job to pay for everything you want to buy your friends and family this Christmas. Well good for you. Have a nice holiday Jason.

        • Jason Farrell

Again, sorry, but sob stories don’t get the rules bent either. The rules were short and to the point.

(and I don’t bother entering any of the contests that require either 1) script kiddie bots, or 2) manic page reloading. The random and creative contests are the best, imo.)

  • koolkat2

Damn image didn’t show up on the app XP

I was looking at it constantly too lol, o well

  • Arthur Valhuerdi

    I wish to win!
