Mobage’s Hit Game “Tiny Tower” Now Available For Android

15

Covering the Google Music event today, I had to take a brief break and where else would I go except into my wonderful Android Market to look for the newest apps. Lo-and-behold I find out the hit game, Tiny Tower, has been released onto the Market courtesy of developer Mobage. The game has already captivated iOS users, sucking up all of their free (and even some of their not so free time) thanks to it’s wonderful 16-bit visuals and addicting gameplay.

Contrary to what the title would have you believe, this is definitely not another tower defense game flooding the Android Market. Instead, you must build a tower and manage the businesses and “bitizens” that live inside. On your quest for that paper chase, you must continue adding floors to your building, attracting even more bitizens to inhabit it and so on and so on. You can also see what’s on the minds of your bitizens and create businesses to fill their needs.

By this time you’re either intrigued or have no interest. And that’s fine. These types of games aren’t for everyone. There’s no zombies are headshots here. But if you give Tiny Tower a chance, make no mistake — this is gaming-crack. Oh, and one more thing. This game does require quite a few permissions so if that scares you or is “unacceptable” then you may want to pass.

You can find Tiny Tower for free right now in the Android Market.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  7. Works on the ET4G, but it look to be another annoying game where you need real money to do anything useful. 30 minute wait to build something, unless you pony up cash to speed it up. Why can’t games just be for fun anymore? :/
