Casio G’zOne Commando Scheduled To Receive Android 2.3 Gingerbread Update

For all you manly-men who found the ruggedness of the Casio G’zone Commando appealing, you may be happy to know that the device is scheduled to receive a Gingerbread update. Droid-Life happened upon this Verizon PDF confirming that the C771M070 (Android 2.3) software update for the device is just around the corner. Besides a couple of bug fixes, you can expect all the usual Gingerbread goodies. I’m thinking the new darker UI will suit the G’zone Commando quite nicely. Any of readers out there actually own this device?

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

    1. I am sure he appreciates your ignorance. What a good friend you are. This is a great phone for people that don’t sit on the couch all day watching tv like yourself, if you are active its a great choice… You should stfu and head over to the crapple fanboy page.

  5. I own one, and its a great device if you use it as intended. Its not the fastest but being able to use it our in the rain and under other bad conditions makes it very appropriate for my work and play environments. I am anxious for the GB update – anyone seen a manual update file floating around yet?

    1. I got it just by opening the Innopath App and checking for new software…Might try it….

  8. signspider says it is a great phone. it has to be the toughtest out there. i threw it out the car window going around 60 are so then while i was backing up to get the thing i ran it over with my truck. other than a few scratches and a little road rash it is fine. the guy that sold me on it at the verizon store said it would survive and it did. i just had to find out if all he said was true. the salesman was truthful in all; even told about the pros and cons of this phone. as for the bad, i am sure they will get all the bugs worked out. i love this phone
