New Leaked Image and Specs For the 4.7-inch HTC Runnymede 2

10

HTC seems to be taking to heart the phrase “bigger is better” and it’s no better exemplified than in their upcoming 4.7-inch HTC Runnymede 2. Wait- 2? When was the first one released? In any case, we’ve recently posted some of the supposed specs but it seems now we’ve finally got it down in print, complete with a render of the device. Everything on this spec list screams “premium device” except for the dreaded single-core processor. I know, it’s dual-core or bust for a lot of you. So why the “lesser” processor? Well, maybe it has something to do with the bundling of that huge Beats Solo headset with the device. Have to cut costs somewhere.

This device will most likely turn out to be the Android version of the recently announced Windows Phone 7 HTC Titan. The camera on this behemoth is also said to be right up there with the Mytouch 4G Slide (and HTC Holiday/Raider). Anyone a smidgen interested in this device?

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  1. A lot of good stuff here (32GB!!), but yeah, no dual-core?? Also, 4.7″ maybe over the size limit for me. It’s a little big for a phone, and too small for a tablet.

  2. No dual core? I pass.

  3. no dual core and no 4g? pass…

  4. 1600 mAh battery??? :/

  5. People have been complaining to htc to make something different for years (instead of nexus clones) and they finally have! (ignoring chacha etc).
Although it’s a tiny pic I think it looks ok/good but for me I would prefer top range specs.

  6. No buttons :D

  7. I’m not interested in this particular device, per se (screen is way way too big, single core processor, small battery), but I am very interested in a phone with 32 gigs internal memory + SD expansion because I use my phone as my media player. Having beats audio for better sound quality would be a big plus.

  8. Wish it had some dual core love, but I’ll remain interested. The bigger screen is what still has me.

  9. Too big! Absurdly WAY too big!

  10. I will never buy anything that is “tuned by Beats”. That just means it’ll have way too much low end and the price will be jacked up to an absurd price. What a gimmick.
