LinkedIn for Android Gets Overhaul in Latest Update

5

Looking to live up to their promise of taking mobile seriously, the chums at LinkedIn have delivered a significant upgrade to their Android application. “Faster, Simpler, Better” is the theme here and judging from the quick look I’ve had with the updated version, they aren’t joking. First of all, Groups are finally here. This is an integral part of LinkedIn for many users and I’m glad to see it’s finally made its way into the app.

Above that, a new user interface helps you jump between four different categories to get you around the service faster:

  • Updates: View updates from your network and top news from LinkedIn Today
  • Inbox: You can view your invitations and messages in one place
  • You: Access your profile, connections, share updates, and even more in the future
  • Groups & More: Browse and interact with your groups, as well as build your network through our People You May Know feature

Not bad at all. Don’t hesitate to download the new version in the Android market today. Oh, and we’re really sorry but you’re going to have to suffer with watching them demonstrate the iPhone version of the app in the video above. :(

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.
