ViewSonic ViewPad 7x Rebranded as Camangi Mangrove 7

1

That’s right, in what could very well be the world’s first 7-inch Honeycomb tablet, the ViewSonic Viewpad 7x has been rebranded as the Camangi Mangrove 7 for its Japanese debut this August.

The Mangrove 7 will still provide a full Android 3.1 experience only in a smaller form factor. Inside, we have the same Nvidia Tegra 2 processor as the ViewPad 7x along with 1GB of RAM to work with. The tablet is estimated to launch with a $49,800 yen ($615) price tag.

Exactly when ViewSonic hopes to bring this tablet stateside is anyone’s guess but lets hope they can hit that sub $500 sweet spot when they finally do.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.
