No Hulu Plus Support For Your Device? Try Your Hand at This Hack

5

Hulu finally launched an official Android application, but like Netflix, the restrict the client to only a handful of handsets. With tons of phones in the US, a ton of users are being left out of the gravy bowl. One user sought to change this, just as folks did with the Netflix app, and gave a go at hacking it. His results? He can get it to playback content on a NOOKcolor running CM7, but not on his OG DROID. This is a big YMMV hack so don’t be disappointed if it doesn’t end up working for you. We’re sure more developers will be working to get this up and running for all devices like they did with Netflix, but cross your fingers and try this hack in the meantime. Instructions at the source link. [Channel Android, Thanks Gerald!]

  1. Yeah, the hack could possibly screw up other apps, such as Swype.  Didn’t Swype threaten to pull the BETA due to the rumor CM7 allowing users to change this within the ROM itself (which of course CM7 didn’t release)?
