Acer Iconia Tab Getting Android 3.1 July 5th in Germany

4

Any of you Acer fans out there feeling jaded by the lack of Android 3.1? Don’t be, because it’ll be here sooner than you think. Acer’s confirmed that they’ll be issuing the upgrade on July 5th. Android 3.1 adds features such as resizable widgets and USB host support. Unfortunately, all things indicate that this is for Germany only. No word yet on when other regions would see it, but we’re hoping it won’t be too long of a wait. [Electronista]

  1. “Jaded” is a word used to describe someone who is bored with it all, having seen and done everything so now nothing interests them. It also hints at pretentiousness and snobbery. “Frustrated” would probably be the better word.

  2. I was really excited when I started reading the headline, then got sad when I saw ‘in Germany.’

    Acer, make this right, please.

    1. Then you know how we feel each time :)

  3. Ya, I got excited too until I read the WHOLE article. Almost went out and bought this tab instead of ordering the Thrive but NOPE, I’ll stick with Toshiba’s new Thrive
