Hulu Plus Now Available In The Android Market

17

Hulu has just officially announced via their blog that Hulu Plus is now available in the Android Market. Wait- before you rush to your Market app only to find the app is nowhere in sight, they also announced that it’s currently only available for 6 Android devices. That’s right. Lucky owners of the Nexus One, Nexus S, HTC Inspire 4G, Motorola Droid II, Motorola Droid X, and the Motorola Atrix will be some of the first in the Android community to try Hulu Plus for themselves. The rest of us will just have to wait.

Before you get a long face, Hulu did say they will be adding to the device compatibility list throughout the year. Besides, I’m sure some tricky kids will find away to get it up and running on other devices (maybe tablets?) before they’re officially supported. I have to admit, being able to watch my favorite shows on the go is making that $8 a month a whole lot more palatable.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  3. Wow, what a month for me. Netflix and Hulu +. Android just keeps on getting better. Android has one-up against Apple in hardware, it won’t be long before Android passes iOS in apps.

  4. I have a D2.  The app looks pretty good but so far everything I’ve tried to watch gets stuck on Buffering when playing the ad.  Can’t get past that so far.

  5. Woo Hoo!  Works great on Nexus S and is a nice application. No lags or buffering for me.  On wifi connection.

  7. Et Tu, Hulu? Release you app for all god damn phones (high end ones, at least)! I’m no dev but how can rovio release their app on virtually all phones including the G1 but you asshats can’t? My mt4g shits all over the nexus one in terms of performance

    1. Says you but not Hulu and Netflix. I’ll watch both of them for you on my Nexus S and Nexus One. :-P

  8. Works on Droid Incredible running Virtuous 3.x Froyo, very nice quality too.  Very well designed app compared to the ugly rushed Netflix app.

  9. Sweet some Atrix love! Now lets get a move on Netflix.

  10. Pay $8 a month so you can watch ads every time you want to skip forward 5 minutes? No thanks.

  11. No love for the droid X? It’s not showing up in the market for me. That’s OK, I still have PlayOn which is a lot cheaper than Hulu Plus and I get all Hulu content.

  12. Gee!  With Hulu, Netflix, cloud service and other streaming media, 2GB for $30 is PLENTY of data…….

For new customers to VZW post 7/7, what is the point of the these apps if you will go broke using them using VZW’s network?

  14.  Tried Hulu plus before on my Ps3 AND Xbox, there’s nothing good on there at all. I sifted through their entire catalog, nothing interesting.
