25

Galaxy on Fire fans, part two is just about done and ready to served. The folks at FishLabs have released Galaxy on Fire 2, the sequel to the hottest intergalactic war game on the market. It’s one of the most impressive Android games, visually, but also offers deep gameplay and story, as well as heavy customization and a good selection of spaceships for you to use. The Tegra HD version is an even sweeter deal for those of you with NVIDIA-powered tablets and phones.

They are offering the entire first solar system for free. You can’t go further than that unless you pay to play, though, and that’ll run you about $15 via in-app purchase. And those of you without Tegra devices will have to pay about $11.50 outright with no trial period to speak of. Take a look at the full feature set below and find both the Tegra HD and universal versions in the Android market.

Game Features:

  • A huge galaxy with over 20 solar systems and beautifully rendered planets
  • 100 unique 3D space stations and more than 30 customizable space ships
  • Unique reputation and diplomacy system
  • Story-based, mission-based and free gameplay
  • Complex trading system with over 170 different commodities of all kinds
  • High quality visuals and music, full voice acting (English) and 3D sound
  • Action Freeze™: 3D screenshot tool to save screenshots from any perspective and upload them to Facebook™
  • OpenFeint integration of leader boards, achievements and saved games
  • Supports up to full native 1280 x 800 pixels resolution

Tegra Features:

  • Heavily optimized to utilize the eight-core rendering power of Tegra’s GeForce GPU for console-gaming quality on mobile devices
  • All meshes re-created from scratch as if they were to be used for a proper console game
  • New details added to the design of each of the over 30 spaceships and 100 space stations
  • Carefully re-painted space background images and planets at 2048 x 2048 pixels resolution to ensure crystal clear game experience even on 10 inch tablets
  • Four times higher texture sizes on all in-game textures and four times higher polygon count on its spaceships, space stations, jump gates and asteroids compared to standard tablet versions
  • Sophisticated OpenGL ES 2.0 specular and displacement shaders on all in-game assets

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

    1. I am about to disappear from work for a few minutes so that I can download it.

      1. Don’t let them burgers burn.  Ooooooh!

        1. LOL I wish I had it that easy.

  2. The “universal” version is only for the Xperia Play.

  3. Chainfire 3D FTW!

    And f you nvidia, and you’re sh!t mobile gpu…..
This whole fragmentation thing is such a joke, all we needed was nvidia to bribe devs to make games only for their sh!tty soc. I know this might work on other devices (without chainfire), but the guy above said its only for the xperia play.

    1. You mad, bro? :)

  4. For some reason the THD version is able to install on the Galaxy S II?

I installed it through the Web Market!
    (Plus ChainFire owns!)

  5. Does it run ok on the SGS2?

    1. It’s very buggy on SGS2. Unplayable.

  6. haha, I’m gonna play this on my single player device, at an even higher framerate than the Tegra 2.
    Have fun O2x faggots

    1. Single player device? What are you talking about?
Thinking about all of your other posts where you state that Tegra 2 would be crap, I think that you are frustrated with the chipset you own and come over here to flame Tegra 2 in every post so you can feel better.

Have fun with your imaginary “single player device” which runs it faster than Tegra 2.

      1. Don’t even respond this dude is a loser pledging his allegiance to a chip…..loser

    2. I doubt you would even get these games if wasn’t for nvidia. Tegra’s GeForce GPU is pretty much same as the GPUs in consoles and PCs

    3. “single player device” code word for jerking off ey? Single player, check. High frame rate, check. Dont hurt your self now.

  7. Is it just me or does the game not show up as available in tegra zone but is available in the android market?

    1. No, is not just you.

    2. Tegra Zone isn’t always up to date, especially if you have a translated (non english) version. Was the same for me with this as well as Bang Bang Racing.

  8. G2x owner

  9. Just downloading it. First solar system is free and the whole Universe costs 11,30€ ?
That’s a steep price for a mobile game, but let’s see, maybe it is worth it.
Hopefully the controls are good, so I can play it nicely on my TV.

  10. 530 meg download. Wow..

  11. Wow plays amazingly great on a TV via LG O2X!
Great game, will probably buy the full version!

  12. TIME TO GIVE MY ATRIX A GOOD WORK OUT!

  13. works brilliantly on my SGS II

    CHAINFIRE 3D OWNS!!!

  14. Apparently this is only for Tegra and Xperia users.  My Samsung Vibrant can’t find it in the market, and the web market mentions those two specifically.  Lame. :-(
