LG Thrill 4G Visits the FCC

17

Oh, hello there, LG Thrill. It’s been a while since we’ve last seen you. The device is poised to be AT&T’s first 3D-enabled handset and is best described as their version of the Optimus 3D. The version we got a look at in Orlando at CTIA this past March looked exactly like the Optimus 3D, but an AT&T rep told us that it’s likely this would change for launch.

Aside from that 3D goodness, this one will have 4G radios inside, a front facing camera and a 1GHz processor. Several revisions of the Optimus 3D have passed through the FCC and a carrier-branded version for AT&T seems to indicate that LG’s just about ready to put this thing on store shelves.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Like this if you saw the deleted “Nexus” article

    1. hey what the crap it’s gone.

    2. yeah where did it go????

      1. I think QK was embarresed that someone posted a link showing that the picture was from a year ago

  2. what nexus article?

    1. The Nexus article that mysteriously vanished like a fart in the wind.

    2. The one that showed a phone that was a year old that they said was the next nexus ha. Shows they don’t do any research they just post things as soon as they get a tip or find it.

  3. whoever breaks the trend about not talking about this phone sucks……..

damn i wish i could have seen that nexus article. i think a nexus phone will be my next one if it comes to sprint

  4. Ohh 3D!
Slow Nintendo 3DS sales don’t mean a thing.

    1. Thats an apple to oranges comparison. Your talking about a phone vs a hand held portable. Its not 3D killing the sales, its the lack of games killing sales. There wasn’t even the traditional Mario platformer at launch. Only recently will a Zelda game ship. Plus your used to 99 cent games or free insted of paying $30 for a game and paying for anything is considered a ripoff. Let me guess, you stare about 1 sec trying to look any 3D device and claim headaches right? Looking at a 3D image is like steeping outdoors from a dark room, theres an ADJUSTMENT period. If your so anti 3D, just poke out one of your eyes also.

  5. Hmmm AT&T. I might give them a look. The Bionic does has me very interested in staying with Verizon.

Bionic and get a network extender, or AT&T and one of their phones? Decisions….decisions….

  6. Didn’t it already pass the FCC like a month ago?

  7. Would have been nice to mention that this device sports the TI Omap 4430 Dual Core chipset.

  8. Will this be as corrupted with problems at the T-mobile G2X?

  9. Does anyone know if this phone will be 4G LTE upgradeable when AT&T releases their LTE network this summer?

  10. I have been waiting, and waiting, and waiting for this phone. Give us our preciouses!

  11. This will be my next phone as soon as it is released.  I don’t want/need 3D, but it’s the best 4G, dual-core, big screen phone on AT&T.

Plus, apparently LGs don’t give you as much brain cancer as Motorolas, which is nice.
