Samsung to give T-Mobile another 4G phone with the Exhibit 4G?

24

From the looks of it, Samsung has yet another phone that isn’t the Galaxy S II pending for release on an American carrier. The latest is slated for T-Mobile HSPA+ bands and will likely sport the name Exhibit 4G. The phone is specced as a sort of mid-range/high-end hybrid with a body style that most closely resembles the Droid Charge recently released for Verizon. A 3.7-inch 480×800 AMOLED display, 1.4GHz ARM11 processor, and 5MP camera are the main features. The handset also scores a VGA front-facing cam.

We’d prefer if Samsung would stop flooding the market with second takes on the original Galaxy S and get to releasing the Galaxy S II, but it looks like they aren’t prepared to do that anytime soon. When the Exhibit 4G will hit the streets is still unknown.

Well, it isn’t really all that surprising given Samsung’s track record here in the US. Is it?

    1. What are you talking about? it is a their job to produce goods. more phones, the more options people have. Not everyone can afford, want, or need the highest end model.

      1. Three words: Samsung Flip Phone

Samsung kept redoing the same thing over and over and over. This looks to be more of the same mentality.

        1. This is also trying same thing that HTC does, HTC has grown quite a bit and Samsung wants to give consumers more options, just stfu already.

          1. Ha ha ha! I’m sorry, but it’s true. After a while, people were complaining that Samsung was just rehashing their flip phones and now it looks like people are saying the same about their current designs. And this isn’t exactly the first article on here where that’s been brought up either! Soooo, you can take your little “stfu” and practice what you preach over in your little fanboy corner because I’m just pointing out what others are saying. Want to go cry to someone? Go cry to them. I’m sure they’ll listen to you.

  2. Samsung = crap phones. Everyone i know that has a samsung has had nothing but problems. Does not matter the carrier or model.

    1. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love their Nexus S, including me.

      1. Same here i love my Nexus S. :)

    2. Yeah no one in the world wants a Galaxy S II right now right?

  3. Lance…Samsung hardware is top of the line. It is their software that has major problems. Example… my Vibrant (Galaxy S series) with Samsung integrated Twiz has GPS problems and only to be fixed by developer modifications. While the Nexus S (Galaxy S series), stock android hasn’t any problems. Samsung makes hardware for so many of the other handsets. But you are right, their software and the lack up timely updates make me want to wait for the next Nexus regardless of brand.

    1. Like I sad, everyone I know has had nothing but problems with Samsung phones. Does not matter the model. Even “dumb phones”

  4. Samsung makes good phones. They just need to makes tw better and more stable. Gs2 isnt a crappy phone. Wth you talking bout?

  5. 1.4 Ghz ARM11? Are you sure you don’t mean ARM a8? If so this phone is just a rebrand of the Galaxy S Plus recently announced.

    1. I’m sure it’s Qualcomm Snapdragon. Not A8, not ARM11 either.

  6. okay so they have the Samsung Vibrant that came out barely a year ago(has it even been Eol’d), the Samsung Galaxy S 4g that came out earlier in Jan/Feb, the Nexus S, and now this Exhibit phone?

    that’s crazy

    1. Umm what? Why?

  7. A 3.7-inch 480×800 AMOLED display, 1.4GHz ARM11 processor” So not SAMOLED or SAMOLED Plus, but the old AMOLED, and an ARM11 CPU? Come on, the iPhone 3G has an ARM11 CPU. This phone will be SLOW.

  8. my question is how the 1.4 ghz ARM11 processor works. and if it has the same gpu as the current galaxy s… ?

  9. I got a t-mobile g1 since the year it came out…i got a full upgrade…i wanna use it to get the SSII..for the love of god samsung release the damn phone to the U.S already before my g1 decides to commit suicide at any given moment which will force me to get a phone i don’t want

  10. @google-c959d2dfc82add73e7d607445d3731eb:disqus

Pick up a vibrant from craigslist for 150 to 200, well worth the cash. Also, if you have the original data plan that came with the g1, it is unlimited and not throttled…don’t ever sign a new contract if you wish to keep that feature..sure wish i hadn’t cancelled my original android data plan. Oh, and it’s 25 bucks a month, cheaper than current rates also.

  11. Why the continued craze for fake 4G? LTE is just around the corner and is REAL 4G. Be patient people.

  12. Yesterdays high end phones are today’s low end phones, a low end samsung with a single core @ 1.4ghz with hspa+ still beats any apple experience lol.
