Verizon’s Inductive Charging Movement Spreads to DROID Charge

9

You had to guess that a phone with the name like the DROID Charge would get some unique charging options. That’s not why it seemingly has, of course – this is just becoming Verizon’s “thing”. The LG Revolution was the first device revealed to have an official wireless charging solution and we learned about options for the HTC Thunderbolt shortly after that.

It looks like these special battery doors will be coming to all of Verizon’s high-end DROID products, which means the DROID X2 and the HTC DROID Incredible 2 may be next in line. The pricing on these are odd, though – the Thunderbolt’s door is $40 while the image above says the DROID Charge’s will be $30. (Which is a much better price, in my opinion.) We’re not sure what the reasoning is for the discrepancy, but eh – it’s their product. [via Droid-Life]

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Well of course it wouldn’t come included with the phone for free, it’s name means two things. They probably think if their customers already overpay for phone service then why not for their phones.

  2. Now if only they can develop this tech for the car, I will hail them.

  3. It is an attractive device for the technology, but too bad the phone itself is $299.99 on contract. That is a bit pricey for any phone let alone one that all it has going for it is LTE and SAMOLED + display.

    1. Sorry, attractive price*

    2. What technology???? I don’t see anything here BUT LAST YEARS SPECS NOTHING MORE HERE LADIES AND GENTLEMAN…Your only fooling yourself if you think this is something special…Verizon never bring the thunder like Sprints industry leading 21st and 22nd 4g devices..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6Vqi8a_swg

      1. Really? Are you gonna post the same BS crap on EVERY single article about Verizon/AT&T devices/services? What a moronic loser. Why don’t you let people have their own opinions in peace for once? As usual, I must point out that Sprint DOES NOT have “22 4G devices”. They don’t even have 10 currently available to the public. Get your facts straight or stop talking. You have no idea how much of a fool you make yourself look. The pointless video also does nothing to help your case.

        1. Correction: Sprint has 11 4G devices. The 2 I have not previously included are not listed under the “phones” section of the Sprint website, but under the “4G” section because they are business specific. With that said, that still doesn’t bring the total 4G devices, currently out and up-and-coming, to 20, let alone 22.

  4. Droid charge is a joke and I do not know why verizon does not get it. They keep making product for the dam thing yet no many people will buy it. I do not get it one bit
