Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Hits the FCC

tw:itter

We’re nearing that time, folks: the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has been approved for the airwaves by our beloved Federal Communications Commission. Carriers are surely getting their prepped to carry the thing. (The only problem is we don’t know who exactly will be doing that just yet.) We don’t expect to go through the entirety of Spring without hearing something, though. This also lines up with Samsung’s confirmation that the device would not be seeing any delays due to hardware changes as was suggested earlier. (But pricing could still be in limbo.) Check the listing out over at the FCC’s site. [Electronista]

Next we have an Android Tablet running 3.0 with an HD screen, Front AND back camera, and a black bezel. I feel sorry for whoever brings out the 4th one of these.

Nice, and since it will be competitive with the ipad pricing i might pick one of theses up…

The back of it looks like an old vinyl record and really pushes my hipster buttons in an exciting way. Its probably the most distinct looking honeycomb tab so far, which is weird for sammy. I hope it comes to the great white north sooner than later

  • Adrian

but I thought they weren’t happy with it and had stopped production? for anyone who cares, Vodafone is going to carry it in the UK

Why do these tablets have to be carrier specific/only. Why won’t they sell a WiFi only version?

  • jerbear

Ugh…I don’t want any carrier involved at all. Just let me buy a tablet. I remember they tried this with netbooks too. I don’t want another bill!

Get with the program people…..there are already pictures of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 up on their site as we speak……

We know what it’s going to look like, what we don’t know is what processor it’ll be packing and how much ram. It has an FFC, and an 8Mpix rear camera. It’ll have Honeycomb ( and from the look of it, the stock Honeycomb experience ). And, of course, Samsung won’t ship a WiFi only version, because they know it’ll sell like crazy, which is totally contrary to what you’d expect.

    no expandable memory….

@ him; Galaxy Tab 10.1 is lighter than an Ipad 2.

@ rohdawg It does have micro-SD.
