Motorola XOOM Overclocked to 1.5 GHz [Video]

The Motorola XOOM – the world’s first Android 3.0 tablet – has been hacked to no end since its release last week, and development continues with coolbho3000′s overclock developments. He first had the NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor clocked at 1.2Ghz, but that was just Saturday. One day later, he’s achieved a stable 1.5 GHz overclock. I’m not surprised that he was the one to achieve it considering he’s the developer of SetCPU, but I am interested to see how big of a performance boost the XOOM will get as a result. (And considering his history, we’re confident that this is the real deal unlike those who claimed to have overclocked the Galaxy S’s CPU to 3 GHz a while back.) Instructions are here.     Even though Tegra 2 is a scam, im definately getting this tablet :D

    I’m actually surprised it isn’t faster. Give it time. I just hope that when the wifi only version is released that Moto doesn’t decide to lock down the bootloader. Don’t know if I’d be able to completely wipe and reinstall with one of the custom roms that will no doubt come out or just stock honeycomb from that point.

    My mytouch 4g at 1.5 ghz scores about the same quadrant and higher linpack

    If you listen he states that the scores are not indicative of the fact that it has TWO cores running 1.5 ghz. The myTouch 4g doesn’t even touch a stock Xoom, lol.

    Stock unrooted atrix pulls 2500-3000. Is the difference due to the Xooms resolution?

    My 3g xoom doesn’t run stable at 1.5ghz. It keeps shutting itself off when I set it to 1.5. Anything that im doing wrong? It is stable at 1.4 ghz though
