Sony Ericsson Unveils the Xperia Neo [MWC]

8

Sony Ericsson just wrapped up their Mobile World Congress press conference here in Barcelona and they’ve had a lot of cool excitements. Aside from folks being able to actually play with the Xperia Play today, they’ve announced the Xperia Neo. It’s not the most exciting looking smartphone, but it’s just another punch in the 1-2 combo they’ve brought to the industry. Be on the lookout for our hands-on content with this and – of course – the Xperia Play.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. This is the first time in a long time that I have had any interest in any product from Sony. It makes me so happy to see at least one company learning from past mistakes from previous phones AND actually doing something to make the next gen better.

  2. Still no Full Speck sheet though, does it have a led notification light, if yes where is it located, as the Arc in on the side (useless place to put it)

  3. i bet this device is still as locked down as the x10. i will not be buying an “open source” based sonyericsson phone again – they dont seem to get it.

  4. @Stocklone You’re obviously not a gamer.

  5. @Stocklone, I remember we were all excited when the X10 was announced. But then it took Sony a full year to deliver, and the device was out of date when shipped. I surely hope they have learned.
I also hope they will come up with a good camera, not too happy with the ones I have had in the last four HTC devices I owned. For me it’s not about the megapixels but about getting a sharp/steady image in lower light conditions.

  6. @paul im sure it has, most sonys do. i dont think its useless on the side at all…my led notification is on the front but i wish it had a side led as thats the angle i can see my phone whenever ive put it down. especially at night when its beside me.. ideally it would have a front and side led to cover all situations but i doubt it. The best setup was the xperia x1… 4 multicolour leds all around the outer edge :P

  7. Looks like an ugly Black Berry Pearl

  8. i bet this phone use 2.3 android ..and when the android os keep updating.. the se phone will stuck with 2.3 with no update.. just like what they did with x8 and x10 mini stuck on android 2.1 while other phone like htc update their phone to 2.2 froyo….
