RedBox App for Android is Here

18

Hey, movie rental fans, I’ve got some good news for you. If you’ve already ditched Blockbuster and don’t use Netflix for your movie rental service, you probably use RedBox. And you probably hate going to the box to get a movie that doesn’t seem to be in stock.

RedBox has released an app for you that’ll let you browse their catalog and reserve DVDs and Blu-Rays at a specific location to ensure you’ll get the movie you’re looking for upon arrival. If you prefer a specific box location and are undecided on a movie, you can browse that box’s stock to see what they have.

Straight forward, really, and it’s in the Android market now. Go ahead and grab it using this link to the market.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  2. This isnt old?

  3. No, it isn’t.

  4. YES FINALLY!! I love Redbox and their $1.50 Blu-rays.

  5. It’s an official release by RedBox.

There was an app awhile back called redboxer which did exactly the same thing. It was removed from the market at some point. I’m assuming because it was not created by RedBox.

  6. Quentyn the link did not take me to the market. I did a search and compared your link to the one there and it is not supposed to have https unless you’re logged in. You may want to revise it.

  7. Maybe my browser just isn’t liking it’s security certificate.

  8. @MT Actually redboxer became redreserve, and is still on the market. I am quite fond of it.

  9. Already put the app to good use, so glad they finally made an official one. Also, if you’re paying more than $.50 to rent a Blu-Ray, you really need to google “red box codes”.

  10. I love this apps.. Really sounds good…

  11. It’s about time

  12. I’ve ben using redreserve for a while now. It works awesome. The developer is always quick to fix problems.

  13. Sweet!!! Can’t beat $1.50 blu ray rentals!! As well as the option to reserve them to pick up after work or whenever you’re able to get there.
    Off to d/l it now!

  14. Snap son! Im gonna gets my Redbox on the go. Brilliant!

  15. Since I first got my Android phone over a year ago I put the Redbox web site as a bookmark on the browser. At that time there was still a rental place in the area and I would kid the clerks by looking to see if “Redbox has it.” There are around 7 kiosks in my immediate area so I hope it works well as I use them for the movies that say “very long wait” in my Netflix queue and are not yet available streamed.

  16. i loaded it last night and for some reason it wouldnt take my password so i did a password reset and tried again and that didnt work, i might try once more today if it doesnt work i will just stick with redreserve, it works well

  17. I had the same problem LaMarcus. Tried to log in on the app about 5 times and it wouldn’t work. I went onto my pc, logged in and then logged out and then I was able to log in from the app. Strange, but that’s what worked for me.

  18. Fuckin Finally! What the hell took so long? I’ve been wanting something like this for so long, but didn’t want to pay for the one that has been in the Android Market for a while.
