New MOTOBLUR Music Player Available for Download

by Quentyn Kennemer on January 24th, 2011 at 12:57 pm

Motorola’s introduced a number of new or new versions of apps with their latest version(s?) of MOTOBLUR. One of them – their music app – has been pulled from either the Atrix, the Bionic, or the CLIQ 2 and is now available for download. Users will be able to enjoy ShoutCAST integration, song identification through SoundHound, community features through TuneWiki, and so much more. Lots of integration with some of the best music services on the Android market. Courtesy of Droid-Life, here’s the .APK for you to try it out now.

  • ROM the Spaceknight

You should be clear that this is not released by Motorola, it’s not in the market, and it’s “install at your own risk”.

  • Quentyn Kennemer

I was clear – I said it was pulled from one of their latest phones. The rest should be obvious.

  • Jeff

    Seemed clear to me.

  • David

Wasn’t too clear to me. I thought it was an official release until ROM stated otherwise.

  • zed

I don’t want to give beef but it wasn’t totally obvious to me.

  • timmyjoe42

Pulling it from a device makes it illegal, right?

  • jjrudey

Works great on my Droid, besides FM Radio of course. Other than that, everything works as it’s supposed to.

i wish manufactures would commit stuff like that to the AOSP. so that everyone can profit from that.

  • pieter

maybe a “not an official release, so install at your own risk” is in order.

but, good deal for those stuck with blur.

    POWERAMP ALL DAY!!!!!

Look it’s great and all you folks post links to make it easy on us, but why use that crap website? I wait to get the f%&king file only to get an error. It’s happened to me many times before. Quit using that quasi spyware/malware garbage website!!!!!

Thank so much! I had this app on my cliq & loved it. (displays lyrics as it plays, etc). Had to use quick app install app in market place to install on my G2.0 Said so in case someone doesn’t know like myself @ 1st. Thanks again! Using it already!

  • Josh

This was actually from the Defy way before any of the other phones.

Here is the link for the file in the XDA defy thread for the file http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=838346&page=2

SpaceKnight and Zed. I hate butting into Forum drama But “One of them – their music app – has been pulled from either the Atrix, the Bionic, or the CLIQ 2 and is now available for download.” Key Word being “Pulled”. Just download it and move on. Jesus sometimes reading comments makes me want to snipe from a water tower.

  • ksizzle9

Lay off guys. He made it clear where it came from

If you just read the title it sounds official, if then skim the article it seems official, however, if you actually read the article it is obviously not official. Not to mention the download link kind of gives it away.

  • NYC_Dude

Wow, this app is solid. Works great on my Epic 4G, 2.1 Android. Lyrics and shoutcast.com integration are a plus.

You need to remove this right now. Quentyn, speak to Rob.

  • daniel

had this running on my motorola cliq for awhile after getting the official 2.1 update.

  • Caset

Yeah my cliq has had this for months now… Its nice, but not very practical (too many taps to just get it to play a song personally) the UI is very plain, and it cannot even come close to a good as a player such as poweramp…. A for effort, D for execution …

  • mike

Sweet music app. Im going to use this to replace my stock app and cherry player since it has shoutcast

  • dork

    motoblur, hahahaha.

  • Smoke

Please make it clear that it is also pretty unstable, have it on my Nexus S and it crashed quite often, it seemed it didn’t like the way I converted the files xD. Complaints!

LACK OF FEATURES, no dedicated loop or shuffle button, maybe in next version of Motoblur

It’s a very nice app though, I might use it full time… The widget is very pretty and the UI is very clean.
