Samsung Announces 4G LTE Galaxy Tab, Smartphone, and Mobile Hotspot

9

Samsung is dropping not just one, but three new devices on us at Verizon’s 4G LTE press conference. We’re getting what isbeing referred to as the “4G LTE smartphone” with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display — same as the Samsung Infuse 4G — a 4G LTE enabled Samsung Galaxy Tab, and an LTE mobile hotspot capable of powering up to five devices at once.

The Galaxy Tab looks like the standard device with a new cellular radio on-board, but we’ll take that. Verizon is really cleaning up with these LTE devices.

From the presser:

Samsung 4G LTE Smartphone — Android 2.2, Google Mobile services, including Google Search™, Google Maps™ and Gmail™, YouTube™, brilliant 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touch screen display, powerful 1GHz application processor, HTML5 Web browser, rear-facing 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera to support video chat capabilities, Samsung Social Hub and Media Hub.

4G LTE-enabled Samsung Galaxy Tab™ – 7-inch enhanced TFT display with 1024 x 600 WSVGA resolution, Android 2.2, Adobe® Flash® 10.1, 1.2GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird application processor, rear-facing 5-megapixel camera and front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera and camcorder enable video chat capabilities.

  1. Who cares when Samsung won’t support their products after the sale? They won’t even fix the GPS in their current Galaxy S phones, which now looks to be a manufacture’s defect… Lot’s of folks have recently figured out their Galaxy S GPS works if they bend the contacts, from the GPS radio to the antenna..
