Google Maps Navigation Comes to Australia and New Zealand

11

Those of you in the land down under can finally get your navigation fix on your Android phones as Google’s finally launched Maps + Navigation in Australia and New Zealand. Anyone in those countries with Android 1.6 or later (sorry, MOTOBLUR users) will be able to download it and get to where they need to go. They’ve also included walking navigation (BETA!) which will vibrate to notify you of turns so you can set your eyes on your surroundings. Head over to the Android market now to download it.

  6. WooHoo… been waiting for this for a year now. I’ve been using Brute Mod, which is great, but native turn by turn is excellent.

Data rates in Austrlaia not too bad. I use “3” get 2G for $10 extra on my plan. For simple email and maps I hardly dent this.
