Droid 2 Global Promotional Video Published

7

We’re just going to go ahead and guess that Verizon’s not going to formally announce this thing. (And they shouldn’t need to, really. It’s still just a Droid 2 with slightly better internals.) As it shoos the original Droid 2 off of the shelves with pre-orders being taken right now, the Droid 2 Global has been advertised by Verizon on their site, and now has its own promotional video on YouTube by Motorola’s how2moto channel. To check the admittedly unexciting video out, just hit that play button below.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Which carrier does the 3g support?

  2. clearly verizon

Not so clearly. Since it is a world edition, my first assumption (without looking at specs) would be that it supports a lot more bands, so probably making it possible to run on other carriers 3G.

  4. Ads have stated “improved keyboard”. Improved over the D1 or D2? This looks like the D2 keyboard to me.

  5. Wow Motorola has just been making to many cell phones

  6. it probably would support multiple 3g carriers, but i’m assuming not with actual 3G data per usual.

  7. Given its exact specs, it will support 3G data when in GSM mode. (and though its about 80% the same as the D2, some of the features require some hardware changes, example the device/SD encryption, newer/faster processor, UTMS/HUSPA modems, etc..) do make it a little different).
