Droid 2 Unboxing

8

While the Motorola Droid 2 has been out for a few weeks, and was received with much less anticipation than its predecessor and father of all Droids, it’s still an important device in the scheme of things. For one, it’s now the most high powered Android Phone on Verizon with a full QWERTY keyboard and for that reason alone should get an in-depth look. Not to mention it’s the successor to what is thus far the most popular Android Phone on the planet.

Needless to say we’ve got the Droid 2 in our fist and we’ll be testing it thoroughly, providing you with our in-depth review just as soon as we have gathered enough info and prepared everything for publishing. Keep your eyes peeled for the full review that will inevitably follow!

How many of you original Droid owners will be upgrading? How many Droid newbies or other Droid changers?

  1. I think I’m going to pass on the Droid 2, and wait to see what the rumored Droid Pro turns out to be.

  2. I have the original Droid and my contract isn’t at the 1 year mark yet, so I think I will pass (otherwise, I will need to pay full retail price). I may go out on a limb and pay full retail for the R2-D2 Droid 2 phone, simply because I’m a nerd, but then again, who doesn’t want R2-D2 on them at all times?

  3. @1 It’s a Droid 2 with GSM/CDMA frequencies and a 1.3Ghz Processor.

  4. i have the droid but with all these new droids i cant even decide whaat to get and so many droids to come!! i dont know if to get this or wait

  5. I’m giving my droid 1 to my daughter, taking her upgrade and getting the DX and getting my wife the D2.

That should keeps us busy for a while.

(The DX arrives next week, woowho!)

  6. I own a Droid and I am tempted by the Droid 2. I would love to have it, but my upgrade is not due for quite some time. This is disappointing but also exciting because when my upgrade is here, I can’t even begin to imagine the power behind the phones that will be out.

  7. It feels like if I watch a video of someone taking a phone out of a box that I have no life. So; I’ll wait for the review videos.

  8. I finally made the switch from RIM (BB Storm2) to Android and I thought what better phone to make the switch with? I also got my son the DX and although I love the huge screen, I like the real keyboard option – which is a must in cold weather (touch screens do not like cold fingers) and in shaky car rides. I love this phone.
