By Back when tablet announcements were few the Velocity Micro Cruz Reader and Cruz Tablet caused a little bit of a stir, but in the wake of countless slate announcements from other companies, news on the two Android devices turned up scant. The tablets were recently scoped on video, and if that got you anticipating the release of the devices you will be happy to know both can now be pre-ordered. The Cruz Reader is quite the steal at a mere $199, and the slightly beefed up but equally sized with a 7-inch TFT display Cruz Tablet will set you back $299.
The Reader features an 800×600 screen resolution, 4GB of internal storage via a bundled SD card, and runs on Android 2.0. The Cruz Tablet gives you an 800×480 16:9 display, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage and 8GB bundled SD Card, and runs on Android 2.1. Both are pretty awesome deals given their price points, and definitely worth checking out if you are in the market for a low-priced Android slate.

Looks interesting but with no access to the Android Market, I wonder how useful it will be. Screen responsiveness also looks iffy from this video.
Will keep my eye on this one but think the “Google Blessed” HP or Toshiba’s might be the way I go in the end.
