By Motorola’s sending their new messaging phone – the Motorola FlipOut – to China as the Motorola M511. The device – previously only available in parts of Europe – has one of the most unique form factors we’ve seen. It has a full QWERTY keypad that “flips out” to reveal itself. The smallish, squarish device might not be for everyone, but it looks like it could be a fine messaging and social networking driver for anyone that can’t do without a QWERTY.
It comes preinstalled with Android 2.1 with the latest version of MOTOBLUR (resizable widgets!), 3G, WiFi, GPS, WAPI, Bluetooth, FM Radio, and a 3-megapixel camera. The press releases says the device will be available starting at the end of July (translation: right now).
I like it. If I didn’t want to have the top of the line phone available I could see myself with one of those.
It seems perfect for the Asian market.
It would be perfect for the kiddies and tweens. Seriously… doesn’t seem to be a bad little phone!

i like the phone for some reason… not too sure about the swivel idea. looks like something that can be easily broken if not treated properly. would be nice to have this small form factor but with a slide/tilt mechanism (TP2 style) instead of the swivel. anyhow, nice mid range android unit. china should like it
I can see this as a nice replacement for sidekick fans. ;)
I had the juke which is a swivel phone and it held up great for the two years I had it. I’d love this form factor but i’d want better specs.
