Last month we caught wind of a Samsung-branded Android with the Blackberry form-factor in its crosshairs that we could be seeing by year’s end. The Samsung Galaxy Q will presumably feature a full QWERTY keyboard juxtaposed below a touchscreen, but little was known about what sort of specs we could expect from the business-focused Android device. More details are beginning to leak.
Here is an idea of what will eventually hit shelves as the Galaxy Q:
- 3-inch Super AMOLED display at 720×480 resolution
- 1GHz Hummingbird processor
- 8MP camera with LED flash
- 1.3MP front-facing camera
- QWERTY keyboard and optical trackpad
- Android 2.2
- 16GB internal storage
Aside from a few mid-range offerings, Samsung is set on using the same high0end features found in the Galaxy S across a large portion of its Galaxy line of Android phones. That’s a smart enough move in some respects, boiling down the customers choice to the most appealing form-factor while still providing a pretty uniform experience across devices. Any Blackberry buffs excited to see a high-end phone using the tried and true keyboard below/screen above layout with Android calling the shots?

One of the Blackberry has 2.6″ LCD, a S-AMOLED with 3″and high resolution on a Samsung “Blackberry-style” will be gorgeous.
The rumor say the Samsung Q will be like a Blackberry not like candy bar.

Ppi is slightly left than 289. Not quite “retina vision” but still very crisp. AND IT IS SUPER AMOLED WITH THE BELOVED BLACKBERRY FORM FACTOR.

Only 3 in. screen??? I was hoping for at least a 4 in. I’ve been holding out for this phone to come out because I thought it was going to have the large screen like the S. I currently have a blackberry and I was looking forward to a slideout keyboard and ditching the keyboard below/screen above layout. Hmmm….maybe I should just go for the S Pro.
