From tomorrow and throughout this upcoming week we’ll have:

  • An unboxing
  • Event footage/coverage
  • Phone/App demonstrations
  • Full review of the Motorola Droid X
  • And a lot more…

While we work on saddling up the interwebz with all the Droid X goodness one bot can carry, check out our other event coverage thus far:

We hope you’ve enjoyed the goods so far… because there will be a LOT more where that came from! As always, we welcome your positive and negative feedback so we can provide you with the best event coverage as humanly (or robotly) possible in the future.

  1. Does anyone know if that tethering is free?

  2. I have a Droid, but I want one…sooo bad.

  3. sweet!

  4. I have a MT3G and Tmobile. I am definitely considering the move to Verizon for this phone. I was considering the Droid 2 but I don’t think I would ever use a physical keyboard and would appreciate the screen size of the X.

Mostly I’m getting tired of the Tmobile network. Barely any 3G, mostly Edge and more G than 3G. I would like data sometimes.

  5. Why didn’t they mention Android on the commercial? :I

  6. @ Nate.. Yeah you got to love T-mobile promising a super high speed 3G network when they don’t even have 3G everywhere yet. I have an HTC EVO now but my first android phone was the G1. For almost one year I paid for 3G service I was not getting in my area. They finally lit it up after more than 9 months, I was not happy, they had promised it sooner. Very happy with Android on Sprint. Android has really matured fast, night and day difference between these new devices and the first Androids on T-mobile.

  7. haha. that music made me laugh lol. Thanks for the post =)

  8. I just don’t get why there is no front facing Cam. Maybe moto thinks the video chat thing wont take off well? Maybe it wont however it would have been a nice add for this phone being its got a huge screen an all. But I am sure this wont stop me from snatching this phone on up. But watch A new X will come out soon with a front facing camera…XL maybe lol sheesh the phone tech never slows down these days…granted video calling has been around for years…lol the nerve of that ol stevey boy sheesh

  9. Phandroid could you please post the dimensions of the Droid X (width, height, etc)? This phone looks sick, but I am trying to figure out how freaking big this thing really is.

  10. Seriously thinking about dropping sprint and going to Verizon. Picked up the Evo on launch day. Love the hell out of this phone! Just, sprint network is weak, dead spots every other corner and traveling is fun to get ten minutes of 4G but then youre in another black hole and your map won’t render. The phone is the amazing! Hit WiFi and life is excellent, its fast and fun, think Verizon network will be worth having a kick a@@ phone on I can actually use the internet that I pay for!

  11. man all these droid X vids are not making me feel that great about samsungs galaxy s. lol, If atleast the dang droid X’s were gsm id be happy enough to unlock one to tmobile. ARGGHHH!!!!

  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-GvTNxfrwuo. watch this video. its an awesome froyo on motoroi. think of this on the droid x

  13. #1 Tethering will not be free, it will be $20 for 2GB a month (on top of your regular data plan).

#2 They did not mention Android because the common customer isn’t concerned about phone OS’s.

    #3 The Droid X is 5.0 x 2.6 x 0.4 in.

  14. Doesn’t seem like there is a front facing camera…can anyone confirm?

  15. @Antonio Don’t worry, you didn’t miss much on their “lighting things up.” It still barely covers anything. I regularly travel and if you are not in a major city you aren’t getting 3G with tmobile. People say wait for their new HSPA+ network to rollout, yeah, it will cover their 3G footprint, not worth it. Hell I haven’t even gotten much above 300k on 3G with tmobile. My friends with Verizon never leaves 3G no matter where they go, middle of nowhere freeways even. So I will finally be happy to jump to a network with data coverage and more than first gen phones.

  16. @Greg, no front facing camera.

  17. Will the tethering feature be optional or will it be required part of the plan? I don’t really feel like increasing my bill by $20 a month.

  18. Here is my dillemma: I currently have a Droid Incredible ordered for $199, but it wont ship until 7/15. Will Droid X have preorder so that I can cancel the Incredible and order the X and have it at the same time? I’m so conflicted!!!

  19. goshh that phones sexy i wish i can update alredy!!

  20. @Stu Dooooo it! Cancel that Incredible, get first in line on the X. That may even ship before the Incredible with all of its delays.

  21. I love the android system and all but why is there no front camra for video chatting I think that is a really cool feature on newer phones and an android phone should definetly have that
