HTC Legend Being Sold for North America

8

Looks like options just continue to open up here in the states. If the USA-bound HTC Desire is too much phone for you, then you may want to opt for one of its smaller cousins – the HTC Legend – which is now being sold with AT&T’s 3G bands here in North America. This is probably due to AT&T sharing the same data band frequencies as Bell wireless in Canada, who just launched the device a couple of days ago.

In any case, you can go ahead and grab the device unlocked from Negri Electronics for just under $500 if it’s the package you’ve been waiting for.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. inb4 the usually “This is such an underpower device and I don’t see why they would even want to launch it anymore.”

    etc etc

  2. Off contract through Bell it is only $399 CAD and through Virgin Mobile (a wholly owned subsidiary on the same network) it is only $349 CAD off contract. Unlocking costs about $20 for most phones, so why pay $500 for it?

  3. WTF IS the point if it’s not coming to AT&T? No thanks. If AT&T wasn’t bunch of greedy dumb asses to APPLE they would pick this up and would get it on my contract in a hart beat.

  4. Torn. Because I am stuck on AT&T (work plan) and I just love the look of the Legend. So much cooler than the Aria -my only gimped option for Android right now.

  5. JJFNIGHTS80, I don’t know what Apple was thinking giving AT&T an exclusive contract for the IPhone until 2012. They should have made the IPhone available to all carriers. Would have greatly expanded the use of the IPhone if they had done that. The fact that Apple went with AT&T does not make me think highly of Apple. Bad choice. Android’s gain.

  6. It seems like a better looking, AMOLED Aria which is not gimped.

  7. Not being sold only being sold to the smaller u.s. carriers. AT&T still bunch of dumb asses not even to pick up the Legend or the Desire. The Legend was another ANROID phone I want so badly. FUCK U AT&T! I’m waiting for my contract to end so I can be DONE WITH YOU!

  8. The ATT data plan changes were the last straw for me, the removal of unlimited for new contracts.
