US Cellular Cites Industry-Wide Screen Shortage for HTC Desire Delay

AMOLED displays are still in short supply as we know from Verizon’s inability to keep the HTC Droid Incredible in stock, and now it’s affecting even more carriers. They originally wanted the Desire to launch in July, but now they’re being forced to push their plans back to August. It doesn’t help that we aren’t expecting this AMOLED shortage to be fully eradicated until sometime next year, but at least they’ve got short term goals to keep the lights on.
