One neat little trick that just popped up enables your HTC EVO 4G to work with the Touchstone charger that everyone loved so much about the Palm Pre.

This isn’t as simple as rooting your phone and flashing some .zip files: you’ll have to take that bad boy apart and get reckless with it. The end result is the ability to just set your EVO onto the Touchstone and let the battery get a good helping of watts. The modder warns against some side effects: the mod includes the use of magnets, and as we know, compasses and magnets living together in close proximity can make it a bit tricky for an app to function correctly that requires the feature.

He also notes one cosmetic flaw: the battery cover needs to be slightly dislodged permanently, but that’s a small price to pay considering most of you would barely notice it.
