Singaporean Carrier StarHub Launches the Motorola Milestone XT

7

Motorola and StarHub – a carrier out in Singapore – have launched the Motorola Milestone XT. The phone is a localized version of the recently announced Motorola Milestone XT720. There’s no difference between the two, as far as I can see.

The phone will be free on a two-year contract. If you don’t remember, this thing has an ARM Cortex A8 processor clocked at 550Mhz, an HDMI-out port, a 8-megapixel camera that can shoot HD video, and a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen with a screen resolution of 854×480.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Is it just me, or is it odd to have all those high-spec features and a relatively slow processor?

  2. According to this:

Milestone XT720 actually is using a TI OMAP3440 clocked at 720MHz and not the TI OMAP3430 clocked at 550MHz that is in the original Droid. Is the Milestone released in Singapore the XT720 or the one originally announced in January and released in Korea? There might actually be two different versions of Milestone then.

  3. Okay, according to this:

there appear to be three different versions of this phone:
    – Milestone XT720 (TI OMAP3440 at 720MHz)
    – Moto XT701 (TI OMAP at up to 600MHz)
    – Motoroi XT720 (TI OMAP at up to 600MHz)
Out of the three above Milestone XT720 has a faster processor and it also has 512MB of RAM as apposed to 256MB in the other two. To add to the confusion, the one released in Singapore is just called Milestone XT without the number so it might actualy be a fourth version to add to the three listed above.

  4. Milestone XT720 is clocked to 720mhz and it has 512 of RAM memory

  5. With all due respect to Motorola and their products. I just hope that Starhub brings more HTC phones here.

  6. Just submitted my review in of Opera Mini 5 beta for the competition.
