Sony Ericsson Cooking Up a 5.5-inch Android MID?

3

Gone are the days where having Android on a screen size less than four inches is acceptable. Between the Samsung Galaxy S, the HTC EVO 4G, and the Dell Streak, it seems there’s a bigger device being outed each and every day. The latest is a prototype spotted in grainy glory by Sony Ericsson that appears to have a 5.5-inch touchscreen with a QWERTY keyboard.

The device is said to be running Android 2.1 and yes, they did equip this thing with phone radios. The prototype’s drivers are still being developed so there’s not much to see yet, but Engadget’s source lets them know that we should be seeing this device turn up sometime this fall. If you thought the Dell Streak was ridiculous, imagine holding one of these up to your head.
