HTC Legend Launching on Bell June 16th? New Pricing Details

10

A couple of weeks ago, we learned Bell could be launching the HTC Legend on June 11th. While that date still has yet to arrive, MobileSyrup is now suggesting that the phone will actually be launching June 16th. Their information comes to us courtesy of another internal document that had this to say:

The HTC Legend is one of the most anticipated Android smartphones. From a hardware perspective, its form factor has captured the attention and praises of the press with its sleek aluminium unibody design, vibrant 3.2” AMOLED capacitive touchscreen and brushed metallic finish. The design is certainly one-of-a-kind, conveys a confident message of class and feels expensive yet solid in your hands… The user also benefits from the same features offered to any other Android users out there. Legend comes with Android 2.1 out-of-the-box, the latest and greatest version of Google’s mobile platform with a range of updates including a revamped Android Market, improved virtual keyboard, support for more apps from the Market and more

We’ve even got some new pricing information to run with. You can sign a three-year contract to get the phone for $79.95, a two-year contract for $249.99, a one-year contract for $349.99, or you can grab the phone for $399.99 without a contract to worry about (no minimum plan for any of these configurations have been discussed, if any).

The Legend is a nice bump up from its cousin-device the HTC Hero with a 3.2-inch AMOLED display, an aluminum build for maximum quality, and a bit more ram and a slightly faster ARM processor.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Too bad you can’t unlock Bell phones. The Legend at $400 would have been nice.

  2. Errr… Since when can you not unlock Bell phones?

  3. Why is this phone not in the US yet? WTF?

  4. Would the proper comparison not be the acer liquid and telus motorola milestone?

acer liquid runs 2.1 and has a better screen and processor for 49.99 – way better deal than this phone with 600mhz old arm processor \
even the milestone has a 600mhz omap processor which is better than this

  5. I was thinking about getting this phone, then i realized telus is getting the HTC triumph(desire).. it blows the legend away in sheer processing power alone. and its going to be close in price at 499$.

yup better wait another month or so this is an already outdated phone in todays market.

  6. Bell is always behind. It took forever to get a phone like this. Telus is slow but at least they got desire/triumph. Well, at least they got it….but wait ! Legend is soon to be on the outdated phone list once HTC EVO 4G come out. Why Bell sucks? You know it

  7. @Alan: EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING. Either use the HTC Triumph or Moto Milestone for Telus. And defin use the Acer Liquid E for Rogers. Badly done comparo.

  8. I want the Samsnug Glalaxy S not this.

  9. These guys are taking forever to release phones…. There is a huge competition out there… but still taking forever to bring the phones to market….

Make the hardware, load the software & sell the unit…. Simple as that… Software Dev. done by Google

  10. Kan – “Make the hardware, load the software & sell the unit…. Simple as that…”

You’re joking right? I sure hope so.

On a side note, you should really work on the grammar thing when making comments on the web. Noone will mind if you use just one period after each sentence instead of four. I just had to point that out.
