Acer Liquid e Launching Soon on Rogers

4

Rogers is beginning to prep it employees for the roll out of the Acer Liquid e, which is headed to dealers now and should be available shortly. BGR got a hold of a launch flyer being sent out to Rogers staff giving the run down of this Android 2.1 handset. The specs have a lot in common with the now-official Acer Stream, including 720p video recording and a Snapdragon processor (though the Liquid e is underclocked to 768MHz). All that and more can be yours for 49.99 on a three-year contract or for $424.99 for those afraid of long-term commitments.

  1. Needs Froyo 2.2 now :)

  2. it took amazingly long to make android 2.1 to work on this phone, especially when it’s basically a vanilla android with couple sucky acer widgets ! And as for Froyo for this…dream on…suckers!

  3. Going from 2.1 to 2.2 should be easier than 1.6 to 2.1 since the Android internal APIs haven’t changed as much. Besides modders have already gotten Froyo to run on Acer Liquid today.

  4. This is the phone that I’ve been waiting for*. A sweet spot in price, performance, and features. Won’t be getting it from Rogers though.

*: Yes, I know it’s been out for a while. I’ve been waiting for other reasons.
