Samsung Corby i5500 Now Has Its GCF Badge

After learning that Samsung was introducing a Corby phone that would run Android 2.1, we’ve been hoping to get some new details regarding the device. The Samsung Corby i5500 caught our eye when it passed the FCC and received its WiFi Certification recently, and now the Global Certification Forum is offering its stamp of approval, as well.

Still no specs outside of the 3-megapixel camera and its usual host of connectivity options, but we did hear that it will be a phone priced to sell and should be running Android 2.1. For some reason, I’m really intrigued by what Samsung can do with a budget-priced Android device, so as soon as I can dig up more information about it, you’ll be the first to know.
