Google Image Search Updated For Android 2.1 and Later

by Quentyn Kennemer on April 29th, 2010 at 7:24 am

If you have an Android 2.1 device, Google’s Image search just got a lot better. They’ve updated their engine to allow for easier and faster navigation, all the while making it look even more fantastic than it already was. Notable changes includes the ability to swipe through individual – and pages of – images just like you would do in a native app.

They’ve also reworked a good chunk of the interface to make it less cumbersome (I, for one, hated having to click the image I want then click View Full Image) and all around a more pleasant experience. If you’re rocking anything older than Android 2.1, then you’re going to have to do without, unfortunately. At least Google was nice enough to give a video walkthrough of it, though, so be sure to check that out above.

Doesn’t seem to work once you are signed in with iGoogle.
