Why are new phones still being planned with android 1.6?

Is there some reason manufacturers don't want to use 2.0?

While I would love to see them produce Android phones, I mainly want to see them expand their Android netbook lineup.

The 1420P or 18020P tablet, with a 10" screen version (but otherwise the same -- same resolutions, same ports (DVI-I), etc., shipped with their version of Android as the main OS (and their version of Linux as the secondary, if they're going to make it dual-boot -- or at least give me a choice between Linux and Windows, so I can pick Linux).

Ship that, Acer, and I'll buy it on day 1.

Maybe we could see this phone on T-Mobile? That would be nice. I'm so ready to leave AT&T behind.
