Not impressed at all!
Audiovox CDM 8940 Had this a long time ago… and you didn’t have to write any code! It came w/ the phone! There are other phones w/ the same capabilities…

Also
The user should be able to use the Flashlight in a matter of seconds. no menus! just hold a button and you have light.

i will be donating 99 cents to the creator of mototorch… he put the app out there for free and then made it an option to donate a buck to him… always good to have competition out there. this will be the first thing i am paying money for on the android marketplace. i’m going to email him… maybe he will make me an atari 2600 emulator or some other cool widget to play with… hmmm… i wonder what else he could do with the led flash… maybe he could make a vibrating application so we could turn our phones into adult novelties for use with our gf’s (and bf’s for all the females and gay guys)

For Galaxy owners try “Glowing Pear” (bit of a crap name…), free app works great on my Galaxy, uses the camera flash LED as described above and has been out for months… Guessing the developers of this are kicking themselves….

Apps are tied to your google account, not your phone, so as long as you have the same gmail address, you can dl paid apps on as many phones as many times as you want. Rooted/Unrooted, its all tied to your gmail account, not the phone.

As an electrical engineer I have to take this comment a bit further. An LED used for a flash like in this camera is often highly tailored to the application, meaning it may be designed for very brief, pulsed power. This means even if the application developer imposes strict limits on how bright the bulb can go, the fact that it is on *continuously* can alone cause significant damage. I personally would not install this or any app like it until I had read the datasheet for whatever LED device is in the phone and ensured that specifications were not being violated.

@G after you wipe your phone all of your apps are deleted but your purchased apps will be in the downloads section of your market app. You can download it again for free as many times as you want.

When you clear your phone upgrade/flash/cogen where do the payed apps go?
Are you aloud to re-download them again with out cost?
Or or do you keep them forever as long as you dont format/flash/upgrade.
(Rogers upgrade deleted all my apps they where free apps anyway just wanta know…)
