Write For Phandroid!

16

Have you loved Android from Day 1? Do you consider yourself a pretty darn good writer with a sense of humor/personality that Phandroid readers would enjoy? Have some time on your hands because hey – you’re just digging around the web for Android stuff anyway?

We’re looking to add a few good members to join the Phandroid writing team… but we’re looking for the “perfect fit”. Here are some of the things we’re looking for:

  • Commitment to posting frequently (1-2+ times/weekday)
  • In it for the long-haul (please no flakes)
  • Strong Android knowledge (You WILL be grilled in comments)
  • Technology savvy (general)
  • Age 18 or older

This position would be PERFECT for an Android-loving college student who wants a sweet/fun gig to put on their resume with a site that will soon dominate the world, discover the solution to global warming, and find the cure for cancer. So what do YOU get out of this whole thingamajig?

  • Be heard. With 2+ million pageviews/month (and growing rapidly) people will hear what YOU have to say (and respond).
  • Perks. Free apps, beta apps, etc… for reviewing purposes
  • Money. Unfortunately this isn’t in the immediate equation but as the site grows… we’ll make room to accommodate/compensate those who deserve it!

We’re looking for people to cover the daily Android news but if you have an Android Market obsession and want to focus on reviewing apps (using both video/text) we would also love to hear fromyou. Want to do both? Sure! But it’s the skills, knowledge, consistency and long-term commitment with which we’re most concerned. As you can clearly see… amazing photoshop skills are not required.

HOW TO APPLY:

Send the following information (SUBJECT LINE: Phandroid Writer) to “My-First-Name” @ “This-Website-Name” dot com:

  • Bio/About: what do you do for work or school, where are you from, hobbies/interests, etc…
  • Why you are the “perfect fit”
  • A writing sample or anything else that will help us decide. Want to writeup a recent story/article to show us what you got? Go for it. Think a picture of your dog named “Droid” will assist your chances (it won’t)? Be my guest!

Hope to hear from you soon!

I also love traveling... where do you want to go?

  1. I’m SO gonna waste your time by sending in this app. Mwuahahaha…oh wait, I like this site…damnit!

  2. O how fate dawns on me and I now realize the errors of my ways. have almost all the criteria for this, I’m a college student, an android enthusiast, and I visit the site multiple times a day. Yet my writing skills aren’t very exceptional nor do I even own an android phone (yet that is.) :/

  3. Since the price is right, how ’bout some weekend staff ?

  4. Let me get back to you in two years; I’ll be eighteen and in college by then.

  5. Damn! I live in Argentina, and currently I’m recovering of a peritonitis surgery, I have loads of free time and I also have a blog in Spanish, currently not updated due to the fact that three weeks ago I was released from hospital.

It would be my dream to write for you guys, since I’m a big fan of the site and Android, and I love writing as well. The only problem I have is that I’m not an Android Pro, and that’s my weakest point. :(

But, on the other hand, I have lots of free time, I’ll be at home for at least 3 months and then I’ll be back to work for only half day, which gives me a lot of free time too. What do you think? Oh, I forgot, I’m not a college student and I’m 33 y.o.

  6. you want a lot, you offer little… not good offer!

  7. I would love to do this but my grammar is bad. :(

  12. Hi Rob,

How about an antipodean view point – New Zealander living in Australia, sheep jokes are the norm here for New Zealanders (Kiwis) in Oz. Been a keen Android follower including your Blog, soo, would be happy and keen to write, Give me shout don’t whistle leave that for the sheep dogs!

  13. I would totally do this if it weren’t for the fact that I’m in engineering. Engineering students don’t have free time.. ever.
