Xperia X3 Live Picture, November Announcement
| by Rob Jackson on October 19th, 2009 |
Way back when the Sony Ericsson Xperia X3 was first rumored it stole ALL of the high-end Android limelight but since then the Motorola Droid has taken over the torch in that arena. Afterall… SE is notoriously delayed in launching their Xperia phones so why get excited over nothing?
Here is why: Ericsson (the latter half of Sony Ericsson) has tweeted that an XperiaX3 announcement is coming in November:

That’s right ladies and gentlemen, you’ll be hearing the official word on the first Android Xperia in no more than a month and a half! The odd part of this is that Ericsson linked to a very unofficial source – Softpedia – who also includes some other rumored tidbits that we can only assume are also true:
- Early November announcement
- Android 2.0
- 1GHz Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm
- 8.1MP Camera
- 3.5mm headset jack
- Available in 2 colors: Black or White
- Launching in January 2010
Those more fortunate than ourselves were already able to get their hands on this phone and have taken a picture for proof:

As you can see it comes from 4pda.info who took a picture of the phone in front of their own website to try and prove its authenticity. Judging by the official November announcement upcoming tweet… we don’t doubt them one bit. We are, however, a little bit jealous.

Depending on what HTC does and how the Development community goes, this may be the Android to get for me. The specs are awesome and it looks slick. All I need to know is if its rootable or not.
