  1. Androïd 2.0 (Donut) is not even close to being released. Until this typo is fixed, I ‘m calling the A1 “Vapor”.

  2. Yes, but 2.0 will be out by the end of the year (touch wood) and this phone will be out of the year, so it sounds pretty likely.

  3. Do you work on Android at Google? How do you know this?

  4. From the SDK it looks like donut is android 1.6

  5. If it really ships with the “HSPA/WCDMA: 850, 1900, 2100 MHz”……

I’ll buy it! I really want a 3G capable phone to use for ATT. I know the Rogers G1 phones from Canada work… But, they still cost >300.00 US on ebay! I’m not going to spend that kind of money on a phone with such limited RAM/ROM.

Bring this baby one or the Samsung!

  6. Donut is 1.6.

  7. I meant this one or the Sony-Ericson. But, it sounds like some of these new phones will be WAY outside of my budget!

  8. Are there any better pics for the device ?

  9. I doubt it’s true. The picture they used is a picture of ACER E1/C1 (Windows Mobile 6.5) taken by Engadget at MWC: http://www.androphones.com/acer-a1-android-phone-29.html

Notice the same shades and flash on the screen. They just rotated the picture.

Also afaik Qualcomm 8250 is a 1GHz processor.

  10. Who cares boycotted android until further notice

  11. This might not work on ATT. ATT uses the wrong 3G frequencies.

  12. This has the same frequencies that iPhone is using so yes. It would be for the AT&T network. If things resolves by the time my contract is up this will be a competitor for my new phone.

  13. True, this won’t work on ATT 3g, but will work on edge and phone calls, etc. nice specs though

  14. It should work on ATT 3G it has the 850/1900 WCDMA bands.

  15. I thought the ATT 3G bands were 850 and 1900, the same 3G bands listed for the Acer.

  16. This has the ATT 3G bands (850 + 1900) listed in it’s supposed specs. So why wouldn’t this work on ATT?1
