Yo this phone looks so sick and sweet i cannot wait for htis to come out. First i was gonna get the htc hero then the motorola cliq but this has stolen the show with a 3.7 inch (rumored capacative touch screen.) GO CHRISTMAS!

I am not taking anything away from the iPhone, it is a phenomenal device. But a phone that is only 1.5mm thicker then the ultra thin iPhone with a real keyboard is outstanding. Finally real competition. If the performance is comparable this phone could be huge. Not an iPhone killer but it is the closest we have seen so far.

Why do these Android phones come with such anemic storage?

Without the possibility to run apps from SD storage or a larger built in app storage capacity (16 GB or more) these phones are SERIOUSLY crippled. Can’t the manufacturers see that one of the reasons the iPhone is so popular is that people can store “tons” of applications on the device?

Android is a great OS but until they allows apps to run from the memory card or devices add memory of some significance (8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB) then these phones will always be sub par.

I think this is the best keborded android phone yet.
BAD:
No processer info in spcs…
Keybord is not setup right
D-pad VS trackball
GSM should be “optional”

GOOD:
EVERYTHING ELSE!

Well this WOULD be the phone I have been waiting on if it would come to T-Mo. I left verizon when the G1 came out and I’m not really interested in going back even if my contract was up.

i read re: sanjay jha the prez of moto or something, they are going to launch 2 phones in Q3/4 both in US and multiple carriers world wide, which means you can get this thing probably unlocked GSM. sweet. might be pricey tho, have to wait and see still.

why the hell is there & sign on nr.6 and ^ sign on nr.7? its the other way around on a pc keyboard why not just stick to it?

Wow, I’ve been holding out for the Calgary, but if this replaces the Calgary I’ll still be happy. Any idea what that unlabeled key is in the lower left of the keyboard? It’d be cool if it were mappable.

This is the first android phone since the G1 that has really piqued my interest. I like the beefier camera and look of the screen. Do we know if the screen is capacitive or resistive? Does it have a camera flash of any kind? is it multi touch? Will it be available on GSM networks? What are the odds an FM radio will be added before it releases? I might have to save my lunch money for this.

The good:
480×852 screen 3.7″ touch screen
5 megapixel camera
physical keyboard with dedicated number row
dpad

The bad:
CDMA/EVDO on Verizon, instead of being a GSM phone
4 row keyboard instead of 5
dpad is on the keyboard, not the face
While the memory is better than the G1, it still seems a little anaemic to me.

Still, it’s the first post-G1 android phone that has been interesting to me. If it turns out well, I might be willing to consider Verizon.

WOW!! That looks much better than the Calgary, and they added another row to the keyboard!

Kind of a weird name but I guess that’s not really that important…

I can’t wait for October! (let’s just hope it’s actually released then…)
