Samsung Galaxy Promo Video Is Out Of This World
| by Rob Jackson on July 13th, 2009 |
I had to throw in a Galaxy pun in the post title – because the video below takes all the “play on words” for the Samsung Galaxy and puts them into video form, complete with a Stars-Wars-like Galaxy destroyer and Mega-Man-ish main character:
Pretty awesome if you ask me… but couldn’t they have visited somewhere a little less boring than “translation” planet first? That was my only complaint… I just wish this thing came with 3D glasses!

Maybe the gas stop should have been later on in the video instead of after the first stop, I can’t believe downloading 1 app drains the battery that bad.

Nice phone but a tragic Ad. And the guy has the audacity to end it with “to be continued” message.
Dude if you do make part two of the vid, make sure you visit the Porn Planet too.

@Rob Jackson – The translation planet is more important for non US markets. Most EU countries, where the phone is launching first, are aware there are other languages in existence and have a greater need to be able to interact with them because of the density of language diversity in the EU.
Very similarly, a US launch will include the “Celebrity Sleaze Gossip Planet” first followed by a “Locate your nearest junk food” app all of this to a Hannah Montana soundtrack. The ending scene will show you how to get the results from the Bachelor More to Love show (Obese Edition), you know, for “normal people”, all in one click. (Spoiler: He picks the big one)

I don’t know what’s dumber. The commercial, the dude in the commercial, the director of this ad or the person who posted this video ?

That’s no Star Destroyer, that’s a Star Trek style spaceship ala the Enterprise. Someone had to point out the obvious :)
The translator app is one that I’m really looking forward to using personally, with all the travelling I do in Europe I think it’d be really useful. It was a little boring tho ….

They spent alot of time NOT really showing you much about the phone. I would not be enticed.

Absolutely SPOT ON “Android User”. That’s right, there are other people and other countries out there, but the yanks don’t seem to understand this rather simple concept

It looks like money was spent, but it wasn’t quite good enough for TV, so they threw it onto YouTube. I bet someone in Samsung Korea marketing has a thing for animation.

This commercial is way to geeky and long. Though it has a nice graphical style.
